BLACK PANTHERS: THE L.A. STORY

BLACK PANTHERS: THE L.A. STORY, tells the story of the Southern California Chapter, Bunchy Carter, and the shoot out at 41st and Central through an eight part documentary series.

It begins in the aftermath of the murders of Panther leaders at UCLA in 1969. It will cover the trial of the accused murderers (the Stiener Brothers), the re-structure of the chapter under the leadership of Geronimo (Pratt) Ji Jaga, the decline of the US Organization and incarceration of leader Ron Karenga, the events which led up to the shootout at 41st & Central, the Party "split" (because of the expulsion of Eldridge Cleaver, the New York 21, and the Southern California Chapter), the formation of the Black Liberation Army, and an analysis of the aftermath which many believe has a strong influence on the condition of race relations in the world today.
