Welcome!
Welcome to the SoCal BPP 50th Anniversary Celebration and Conference, which will take place in Los Angeles California in December of 2019. The conference will focus on keeping the Chapter's legacy of social justice and freedom for all alive!
These events will use lectures, art, and multi-media to convey their messages. The purpose of these events are to educate the attendees through lessons learned by the Black Panther Party and sharing with the people– the tools for liberation.
The conference is also unique for it's focus on engaging young people. This will not just be a trip down memory lane, but also a journey into the future.

Southern California Chapter Black Panthers Honored
February 2018 marked the 51st anniversary of the founding of the Southern California Chapter of the Black Panther Party. Their cutting edge ideas from over
50 years ago of an advanced stand against police brutality, provision for free health care, fight against hunger and poverty, and move towards an enhanced education system are still considered by many to be necessities in the United States today.
Former BPP members, educational institutions, students, community leaders, film makers, and politicians– called the SoCal BPP Memory Project are hosting events celebrating the SoCal chapter's accomplishments from 2018- 2019 in Los Angeles, California.
The theme of the commemoration is “Educate to Liberate” a saying used during the movement meaning that through education, liberation is born.
